Shabbat/Yom Teruah 2023: Why Is Yeshua Israel’s King?

NOTE: The transcript does not exactly match the recording.

The story of Israel is the story of a King, a people and a land. This story stretches back 6,000 years. The Bible was not written for the world. It was written for the people of YHVH to know their history. It was written TO the people at the end of days so we will know what is coming. That which is coming is not contained only in the Book of Revelation. This knowledge begins in Genesis 1:1 and goes all the way to Revelation 22:21. The entire Bible answers all the “whats” and “whys” of Israel for all time.

WHAT IS ISRAEL?

Israel is not this modern UN-created political nation. Biblical Israel is different from modern Israel. Biblical Israel is 12 united tribes under one King. Modern Israel is 4 tribes from the southern House, AKA the House of Judah, after the split in the Kingdom which happened during Solomon’s reign. Those 4 tribes have companions with them comprised of some people from the northern tribes who joined the southern House of Judah after the split and Gentiles who converted to Judaism over the last 2500 years. The people from the southern House of Judah have called themselves Jews, a diminutive word from the name of Judah, for 2500 years.

WHO IS ISRAEL’S KING?

There is one coming who will not qualify to be Israel’s King although he will call himself this. Israel’s true King will reunite and restore all 12 tribes. The coming King, AKA the Antichrist, will become King of a nation comprised only of 4 tribes and the companions that are with them.

If this coming King is not the true King of Israel, then who is?

A heathen Gentile, Balaam, knew who the King of Israel was even when the people did not know.

Numbers 23:20 Behold, I received a command to bless: he has blessed, and I cannot revoke it.
Numbers 23:21 He has not beheld misfortune in Jacob, nor has he seen trouble in Israel. The LORD their God is with them, and the shout of a King is among them.

Balaam knew the name “YHVH” and he knew Israel had a God who was also Israel’s King.

All through the scriptures, we read that YHVH is both God and King to Israel. One understanding we must come to is that YHVH is only Israel’s God and King.

In order to be ruled by YHVH as an Israelite, one must become a citizen of Biblical Israel by accepting Yeshua’s cleansing water and blood for sins committed through repentance of those sins, and accepting Yeshua’s authority to rule and reign both in Biblical Israel and in our personal life. Repentance to YHVH is the equivalent of taking an oath of citizenship in Israel just the way foreigners take an oath of citizenship in their new nation of choice.

Yeshua will reign over the nations, as well, and Biblical Israel will be elevated above the nations in the future just as Israel was elevated above the nations (that was YHVH’s intention in the past). Future Biblical Israel will rule WITH Yeshua.

One of the reasons it is so important for Yeshua’s people to be in His image is because only the righteous can rule and reign with Him. Righteousness is attributed to us by accepting Yeshua as God and King and then continuing in His righteous ways as given to us in the Law of Moses.

Here are scriptures that say the God of Israel is also Israel’s King.

1 Samuel 12:12 And when you saw that Nahash the King of the Ammonites came against you, you said to me, ‘No, but a King shall reign over us,’ when YHVH your God was your King.

Isaiah 6:5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, YHVH of hosts.

Isaiah 33:22 For YHVH is our judge, YHVH is our lawgiver, YHVH is our King; he will save us.

Isaiah 41:21 Produce your cause, saith YHVH; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob.

Isaiah 43:15 I am YHVH, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.

Isaiah 44:6 Thus saith YHVH the King of Israel, and his redeemer YHVH of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

Zephaniah 3:15 YHVH has taken away your judgments, he has cast out your enemy: the King of Israel, even YHVH, is in the midst of you: you shalt not see evil any more.

John 12:13 Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of Adonai.

Revelation 15:2 And I saw what appeared to be a sea of glass mingled with fire–and also those who had conquered the beast and its image and the number of its name, standing beside the sea of glass with harps of God in their hands.
Revelation 15:3 And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, “Great and amazing are your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations!

What is the difference between a God and a King?

“God” is a function of Kingship. The “God” function is to be the conquering “mighty One”. The word ‘Elohim’ means “mighty ones”. This is why ‘kings’ were also revered as ‘gods’ in the ancient times.

YHVH is the corporate and King-ly holy Name. Why is this Name set apart only to YHVH? Because no one but the Father and Son are corporate founders.

These, the Father and the Son, as ONE entity are named YHVH.

YHVH, the corporate plural-but-unified-as-One entity, covenants with Israel – Jacob’s spiritual offspring.

To serve another god is to imply that YHVH is not mighty enough, not strong enough to protect you and that, as King, He is not just enough to deserve obedience.

Zechariah14:9 And YHVH shall be King over all the earth: in that day shall there be one YHVH, and his name one.

Zechariah14:16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, YHVH of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.

WHEN DID YHVH BECOME OUR KING?

By virtue of being the Creator, Elohim was already King.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning, Elohim created the heavens and the earth.

Why is He God?

Genesis 1:2 The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

The work of a mighty one. This hovering, vibrating, is our atmosphere today. This is why He must bless the entire world with the basic blessings of the earth: Air to breathe, food to eat and water to drink.

Ecclesiastes 9:2  All things come alike to all. There is one event to the righteous and to the wicked; to the good, to the clean, to the unclean, to him who sacrifices, and to him who doesn’t sacrifice…

Matthew 5:45  …He makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.

The nation of Israel officially received her name and accepted YHVH as King of Israel at Mount Sinai when the Covenant was made.

Exodus 19:1 On the third new moon after the people of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on that day they came into the wilderness of Sinai.
Exodus 19:2 They set out from Rephidim and came into the wilderness of Sinai, and they encamped in the wilderness. There Israel encamped before the mountain,
Exodus 19:3 while Moses went up to God…

Moses went up to Israel’s God on the mountain.

Continuing: The LORD called to him out of the mountain, saying, “Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the people of Israel:

Immediately after saying Moses went to God on the mountain, the verse then says YHVH called Moses to the mountain. “God” and “YHVH” are 2 different names for the same entity, the corporate entity as described before.

Exodus 19:4 You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself.
Exodus 19:5 Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine;

The definition of the Covenant:

Exodus 19:6 and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These are the words that you shall speak to the people of Israel.”
Exodus 19:7 So Moses came and called the elders of the people and set before them all these words that YHVH had commanded him.
Exodus 19:8 All the people answered together and said, “All that YHVH has spoken we will do.” And Moses reported the words of the people to YHVH.

Definition of the covenant with Israel’s new King who is also Israel’s God: All that YHVH says we will do.

REJECTION OF ISRAEL’S KING

1 Samuel 8:4 Then all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah
1 Samuel 8:5 and said to him, “Behold, you are old and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now appoint for us a king to judge us like all the nations.”
1 Samuel 8:6 But the thing displeased Samuel when they said, “Give us a king to judge us.” And Samuel prayed to YHVH.
1 Samuel 8:7 And YHVH said to Samuel, “Obey the voice of the people in all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected me from being King over them.
1 Samuel 8:8 According to all the deeds that they have done, from the day I brought them up out of Egypt even to this day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are also doing to you.
1 Samuel 8:9 Now then, obey their voice; only you shall solemnly warn them and show them the ways of the king who shall reign over them.”

Jeremiah 8:19 Behold, the cry of the daughter of my people from the length and breadth of the land: “Is YHVH not in Zion? Is her King not in her?” “Why have they provoked me to anger with their carved images and with their foreign idols?”

Jeremiah 10:10 But YHVH is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting King: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.

WHAT KIND OF KING IS COMING?

Psalms 18:2 The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Psalms 74:12 Yet God my King is from of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.

Jeremiah 23:5 Behold, the days come, saith YHVH, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.

1 Timothy 1:17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Revelation 17:14 They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.”

Revelation 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

WHAT KIND OF KINGDOM IS COMING?

Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:7 Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of YHVH of hosts will do this.

THE NATURE OF THE KINGDOM’S LAWS

Deuteronomy 4:8 And what great nation is there, that has statutes and rules so righteous as all this law that I set before you today?

Psalms 119:142 Your righteousness is righteous forever, and your law is truth.

Romans 7:12 So the law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good.

Romans 10:5 For Moses writes about the righteousness that is based on the law, that the person who does the commandments shall live by them.

THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE DAY OF TRUMPET BLASTS – THE CROWNING OF THE KING

Leviticus 23:23 YHVH spoke to Moses:
Leviticus 23:24 “Tell the children of Israel, ‘In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you must have a complete rest, a memorial announced by loud horn blasts, a holy assembly.
Leviticus 23:25 You must not do any regular work, but you must present a gift to YHVH.'”

Numbers 29:1 “‘On the first day of the seventh month, you are to hold a holy assembly. You must not do your ordinary work, for it is a day of blowing trumpets for you.
Numbers 29:2 You must offer a burnt offering as a sweet aroma to YHVH: one young bull, one ram, and seven lambs one year old without blemish.
Numbers 29:3 “‘Their grain offering is to be of finely ground flour mixed with olive oil, three-tenths of an ephah for the bull, two-tenths of an ephah for the ram,
Numbers 29:4 and one-tenth for each of the seven lambs,
Numbers 29:5 with one male goat for a purification offering to make an atonement for you;
Numbers 29:6 this is in addition to the monthly burnt offering and its grain offering, and the daily burnt offering with its grain offering and their drink offerings as prescribed, as a sweet aroma, a sacrifice made by fire to YHVH.

Blowing the trumpets is a commemoration of the sound of YHVH’s Kingly voice and the voice of God which had never been heard by before, not by Abraham, Isaac or Jacob, not by anyone before Mount Sinai. That first generation of Israel was the first to hear Elohim’s Kingly voice. When the God and the King are recognized as ONE and the same, His audible voice can be heard and it sounds like the shofar blast.

The Amazing Scene in Heaven: The Crowning of the King of Glory

Revelation 4:1 After these things I looked, and there was a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet said: “Come up here so that I can show you what must happen after these things.”
Revelation 4:2 Immediately I was in the Spirit, and a throne was standing in heaven with someone seated on it!
Revelation 4:3 And the one seated on it was like jasper and carnelian in appearance, and a rainbow looking like it was made of emerald encircled the throne.
Revelation 4:4 In a circle around the throne were twenty-four other thrones and seated on those thrones were twenty-four elders. They were dressed in white clothing and had golden crowns on their heads.
Revelation 4:5 From the throne came out flashes of lightning and roaring and crashes of thunder. Seven flaming torches, which are the seven spirits of Elohim, were burning in front of the throne
Revelation 4:6 and in front of the throne was something like a sea of glass, like crystal. In the middle of the throne and around the throne were four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back.
Revelation 4:7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second creature like an ox, the third creature had a face like a man’s, and the fourth creature looked like an eagle flying.
Revelation 4:8 Each one of the four living creatures had six wings and was full of eyes all around and inside. They never rest day or night, saying: “Holy Holy Holy is YHVH Elohim, the All-Powerful, Who was and who is, and who is still to come!”
Revelation 4:9 And whenever the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to the one who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever,
Revelation 4:10 the twenty-four elders throw themselves to the ground before the one who sits on the throne and worship the one who lives forever and ever, and they offer their crowns before his throne, saying:
Revelation 4:11 “You are worthy, our YHVH and Elohim…,

…Our King and God, our ruler and our creator and protector…

…to receive glory and honor and power, since you created all things, and because of your will they existed and were created!”

Notice that now the order is reversed from God and King to King and God. It was the one we call YHVH, our King, the rightful King of 12-tribed Israel, who created all things and the world continues to exist because our King is also our God!

Revelation 5:11 Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands,
Revelation 5:12 saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!”
Revelation 5:13 And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying, “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!”
Revelation 5:14 And the four living creatures said, “Amen!” and the elders fell down and worshiped.

Our King and God became a man so He could destroy the old sick man of Isaiah 1, the man who had fallen from grace just as Adam did, to return from the grave with the new man, the man who exists solely by YHVH’s grace. All of creation was made for the purpose of Biblical Israel’s King to have a people and a land. Those who disagree with this purpose will be destroyed at YHVH’s Judgement day.

Revelation 19:16 He has a name written on his clothing and on his thigh: “King of kings and LORD of LORDs.”

The time is coming when Yeshua will be crowned King of all the nations, not just King of Israel.

Revelation 15:3 And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, “Great and amazing are your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations!

The King is Returning Soon

Revelation 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

THE KING’S CITY

Revelation 3:10 Because you have kept my admonition to endure steadfastly, I will also keep you from the hour of testing that is about to come on the whole world to test those who live on the earth.
Revelation 3:11 I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have so that no one can take away your crown.
Revelation 3:12 The one who conquers I will make a pillar in the temple of my Elohim, and he will never depart from it. I will write on him the name of my Elohim and the name of the city of my Elohim (the new Jerusalem that comes down out of heaven from my Elohim), and my new name as well.
Revelation 3:13 The one who has an ear had better hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’

Revelation 21:1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.
Revelation 21:2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
Revelation 21:3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.
Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
Revelation 21:5 And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also, he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

Revelation 21:9 Then came one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues and spoke to me, saying, “Come, I will show you the Bride, the wife of the Lamb.”
Revelation 21:10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great, high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God,
Revelation 21:11 having the glory of God, its radiance like a most rare jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal.
Revelation 21:12 It had a great, high wall, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and on the gates the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel were inscribed–
Revelation 21:13 on the east three gates, on the north three gates, on the south three gates, and on the west three gates.
Revelation 21:14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
Revelation 21:15 And the one who spoke with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city and its gates and walls.
Revelation 21:16 The city lies foursquare, its length the same as its width. And he measured the city with his rod, 12,000 stadia. Its length and width and height are equal.
Revelation 21:17 He also measured its wall, 144 cubits by human measurement, which is also an angel’s measurement.
Revelation 21:18 The wall was built of jasper, while the city was pure gold, clear as glass.
Revelation 21:19 The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every kind of jewel. The first was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald,
Revelation 21:20 the fifth onyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst.
Revelation 21:21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each of the gates made of a single pearl, and the street of the city was pure gold, transparent as glass.
Revelation 21:22 And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is Adonai God the Almighty and the Lamb.
Revelation 21:23 And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb.
Revelation 21:24 By its light will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it,
Revelation 21:25 and its gates will never be shut by day–and there will be no night there.
Revelation 21:26 They will bring into it the glory and the honor of the nations.
Revelation 21:27 But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Yom Teruah is the annual commemoration of the crowning of Israel’s Kings. I could mention those other Kings – Saul, David, Solomon and the rest. But why? Saul, David and Solomon were the only 3 Kings to rule over a united 12-tribed Israel but each one of those is dead and still lying in their graves. Of the 3, David was the only righteous King who will only be glorified because Yeshua will continue David’s throne as promised by YHVH, by Yeshua Himself. When YHVH promised David that there would always be one from David’s line to rule on the throne, YHVH was speaking of Himself, the King that all Israel had rejected! So there is no need to aggrandize any other King of Israel than Yeshua.

LONG LIVE KING YESHUA! KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS, OUR ELOHIM AND MELCHIZEDEK, KING OF RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Be Blessed!
