ZECHARIAH’S 6TH VISION: A FLYING SCROLL & WOMAN IN A BASKET

REVIEW

We must review the sequence of visions had by Haggai and Zechariah to this point because they give us a summary of YHVH’s message, which is the story of YHVH’s plans. These are not individual prophecies. They are a string of prophecies telling us YHVH’s objective so they must be understood together. And He has given us all the steps His objective requires in this string of visions.

Haggai’s 1st vision was a call to the 520 BC Jews to start building the second temple. His 2nd vision was YHVH having a conversation with Zerubbabel and Joshua about the glory that would not be in the second temple but telling them that the glory would be in the “latter house”, the Millennial temple of Messiah Yeshua of possibly YHVH intended the New Jerusalem. He was telling Zerubbabel and Joshua that what they were doing would result in YHVH fulfilling His plan to return His temple to its rightful place where it was before the fall of Adam, and that its latter glory would be greater than anything seen before.

After these 2 prophecies, YHVH also spoke to Zechariah about rebuilding the temple but He wasn’t talking about the physical temple this time. He was talking about His people as His temple, a people whose collective hearts are the “temple made without hands”. It was Joshua’s job to lead the 520 BC Jews in righteousness and to help them keep their relationships, individually and collectively, with YHVH.

Then, in Haggai’s 3rd prophecy, YHVH explained that the 520 BC Jews were still defiled; they were unclean. They had repented for not working for the prior 16 years. But they were still unclean because there was no red heifer ashes. So now, they had to throw themselves on YHVH’s mercy, on the Blood of the Lamb who was slain before the foundation of the world.

And finally, Haggai’s 4th vision prophesied that Zerubbabel would symbolize YHVH’s signet ring of His authority on earth.

Zechariah’s 2nd vision came after Haggai’s 4th and final one. The vision declared that the 520 BC Jews would be safe while they worked; that YHVH had sent His patrol of red, white and brown horses to watch for signs of trouble and being ready to put those troubles down.

YHVH showed Zechariah 4 horns, which are governments, and 4 carpenters working on the temple even with the presence of the horns.

Zechariah’s 3rd vision was about measuring Jerusalem to discover something about its justice. The vision ended with a proclamation of all the nations that would one day come to Jerusalem to worship YHVH.

The 4th vision was about Joshua, the High Priest, being prepared to serve the temple so that he could officiate at Passover that year.

The 5th vision, the Heavenly menorah, revealed YHVH’s plan to restore the Order of Melchizedek on earth, something that could only happen because the Jews would complete the second temple. And YHVH showed us how Zerubbabel and Joshua were 2 righteous and Holy Spirit filled “oil-producing ones” who were the branches out of whom Yeshua would come.  

Step by step, YHVH has told us His plan through these visions all the way to restoring His final temple to the earth, the New (renewed) Jerusalem. The visions of Haggai and Zechariah reveal YHVH’s plans if you are able to perceive it.

A Vision of a Flying Scroll

Zechariah 5:1  Then again I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold, a flying scroll.
Zechariah 5:2  He said to me, “What do you see?” I answered, “I see a flying scroll; its length is twenty cubits, and its width ten cubits.”
Zechariah 5:3  Then he said to me, “This is the curse that goes out over the surface of the whole land; for everyone who steals shall be cut off according to it on the one side; and everyone who swears falsely shall be cut off according to it on the other side.
Zechariah 5:4  I will cause it to go out,” says Yahweh of Armies, “and it will enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him who swears falsely by my name; and it will remain in the middle of his house, and will destroy it with its timber and its stones.”

Commentators make a big fuss over the dimensions of this open Torah scroll which is actually hovering, not flying, over the temple.

Strong’s H5774, “flying” in English and ‘uph’ in Hebrew, means “to cover” something. There are no wings here. Just the “roll”, which is understood as a “scroll”, hovering, fully open, over the temple to cover it. In other words, to fill up and cover the entire temple with YHVH’s Law.

Remember, this temple was not yet built. This is 520 BC. The temple, meaning the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies, wasn’t complete until 516 BC. So Zechariah is a seeing a near future condition of the second temple.

What does this scroll represent? It is the fullness of the Law of YHVH coming down from Heaven to administer His righteousness, holiness and justice from Jerusalem. The Law always goes forth from Jerusalem.

Isaiah 2:3  And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

Micah 4:2  And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

Commentators claim that the focus of this scroll was the curses. I don’t believe that and here is why. YHVH doesn’t give us the curses without also giving us the blessings to choose from. Plus, the entirety of the Law goes forth from Jerusalem, not only the curses.

But here’s the thing. YHVH did focus on the curses in this passage. The curses are for anyone who steals and anyone who swears falsely. You might be asking where is the rest of the curses? Consider that stealing and swearing falsely covers every sin people can do to each other and to YHVH.

This emphasis on stealing and swearing falsely does not mean the rest of the Torah is missing from the flying scroll. This is, though, the focus because it was how the Jews had been sinning prior to the Babylonian invasion. They had been stealing from the poor, the orphaned and the widowed, and bringing false witness against each other, and against the poor, the orphaned and the widows. In fact, false witness testimony put Yeshua to death!

Stealing is involved in not being faithful to know YHVH is our God and King. We steal the recognition of Him as the Creator and His authority to govern us when we deny Him as Israel’s only God and go to worship the gods and goddesses of the nations.

We steal His Creation when we have, make or use images. That is copyright infringement and intellectual theft! One can be sued for using images and other intellectual property like poetry, music and prose without permission! Yet, humans do it to YHVH every day!

We steal honor and glory from Him and His Kingdom when we reject the 7th day as the Sabbath and opt for either Friday or Sunday or some other day. We steal from Him when we commit adultery. We are not only stealing the relationship from the husband or the wife, but we are stealing from YHVH because the marriage relationship was established by Him. Thus, we steal by rejecting His authority over our marriages by sharing our bodies with usurpers!

We steal from our parents when we dishonor them. And we steal from others when we covet their stuff, which is a heart issue.

False witnessing is lying about others. It covers gossip and slander!

Do you see how disobedience to the Torah can be reduced to just these 2 concepts?

YHVH is directly telling Zechariah that these 2 things were what the pre-Babylonian Jews had been doing. They were stealing from YHVH and stealing from each other and bearing false witness to uphold their thefts. And then YHVH showed them the solution: remove 3 women!

Now, let’s talk about those 3 women.

A Vision of a Woman in a Basket

Zechariah 5:5  Then the angel who talked with me came forward, and said to me, “Lift up now your eyes, and see what is this that is appearing.”
Zechariah 5:6  I said, “What is it?” He said, “This is the ephah basket that is appearing.” He said moreover, “This is their [the 3 women’s] appearance in all the land [not only Jerusalem]
Zechariah 5:7  (and behold, a talent of lead was lifted up); and this is a woman sitting in the middle of the ephah basket.”

Lead is the counterfeit of silver. Silver is redemption. Lead gets you nothing but a seat in a basket on your way to destruction!

Zechariah 5:8  He said, “This is Wickedness;” and he threw her down into the middle of the ephah basket; and he threw the weight of lead on its mouth.

If you want to really know YHVH’s power, look at verse 8! He literally picked up that wicked woman (and I will tell you who she is in a minute) and threw her into the basket. YHVH is going to do this again except that He will be throwing her somewhere else!

Zechariah 5:9  Then lifted I up my eyes, and saw, and behold, there were two women, and the wind was in their wings. Now they had wings like the wings of a stork, and they lifted up the ephah basket between earth and the sky.
Zechariah 5:10  Then I said to the angel who talked with me, “Where are these carrying the ephah basket?”
Zechariah 5:11  He said to me, “To build her a house in the land of Shinar. When it is prepared, she will be set there in her own place [on her own base, a pedestal -KJV].”

YHVH did not tell Zechariah who the 2 women were but the “wind” was YHVH’s Holy Spirit carrying them out of Jerusalem! They had no choice but to carry her away. They were literally being blown away by His wind! “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit” (Zechariah 4:6). Who can overcome YHVH’s Holy Spirit? No one, including these 3 wicked women!

I’m not going to make much of the stork’s wings. This was not a whole stork, only the wings. The idea of the stork’s wings was that the 3 wicked women were being delivered to their place. In case the Jews didn’t understand that the wind was YHVH removing the women, He used the stork imagery because the stork is part of ancient superstition and YHVH simply used imagery the Jews would understand. The women were being delivered somewhere else!

Before I proceed, I will tell you who these women are. They are the goddess Ishtar, the Queen of Heaven, and her 2 daughters Oholah and Oholibah, Israel’s wicked Northern and Southern Kingdoms. Ishtar is seated in the basket under the lead weight. There is no redemption for her.

The 2 women were being sent away with their mother to their mother’s original home in Babylon; not the city, but the empire, Shinar, the site of Nimrod’s original mass rebellion. And they were going to build their mother, Ishtar, a house there. Just like the Jews were building a house for YHVH, so were these 2 women going to build a house for their mother and put her on her base, the ‘mekunah’ in Hebrew (Strong’s H4369). ‘Mekunah’s’ root word is H4350 which means “pedestal”.

Oholah and Oholibah no longer belonged to YHVH. They now were completely their mother’s daughters, and they were giving her a “base of operations”! Get it? YHVH would have His base of operations in Jerusalem; Ishtar would have her base of operations in Shinar. His Word would go forth from Jerusalem (Zion), and her word would go forth from Shinar. This is why Babylon infects all of the other empires. She is in Egypt, Assyria, Persia, Greece and Rome.

I have often wondered why Babylon has such powerful influence in the other beast empires to the point that she shows up at the very end, during the Tribulation. When I understood this, I knew the answer. YHVH gave her a base, a “base of operations”. Worship her or worship YHVH. The test is that simple!

Literally, the approach of YHVH’s Torah scroll, His Law, that hovered over the temple, pushed their wickedness out of Jerusalem. Now, the 2 daughters would build their mother a temple in honor of the wickedness of the flesh and they would put her on the pedestal in her base of operations, positioned above themselves, to worship her and do her will. They have been doing that ever since!

Ishtar is the Queen of Heaven worshiped by the Jews long before the Babylonian captivity.

Jeremiah 44:16  “As for the word that you [Jeremiah] have spoken to us [Jews in Pathros Egypt after fleeing from the Babylonian army] in Yahweh’s name, we [the Jews] will not listen to you.
Jeremiah 44:17  But we will certainly perform every word that has gone out of our mouth, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem; for then had we plenty of food, and were well, and saw no evil.
Jeremiah 44:18  But since we stopped burning incense to the queen of heaven, and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have lacked all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.
Jeremiah 44:19  “When we burned incense to the queen of the sky, and poured out drink offerings to her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings to her, without our husbands?”

Ishtar is not a myth. She is a real entity of the same realm inhabited by all of the angels, both the righteous and the fallen ones! Do not underestimate her! Ishtar is the transgender feminine version of Satan himself. Look it up on Google and you will read that this statement is false. But then you will read about the connections between herself and Satan.

Angels have no gender. Yeshua is clear about that (Matthew 22:30, and Mark 12:25 and Luke 20:35–36). Traditionally, angels have been given masculine gender because Biblical culture is patriarchal but the truth is that angels are without male or female gender. They can choose genders, and Heylel-Lucifer-Satan-the serpent, took the female gender as Ishtar in order to deceive God’s people.

Ishtar is the most prevalent goddess in scripture. Her names have many iterations in the Near East, Egypt and Greece: Inanna or just plain “Nana” (not in scripture) is her oldest aspect in Nimrod’s Babylon. Astarte, Ashtoreth, Asherah and Aphrodite (also not in scripture) are ancient names for her. Easter is her modern English name.

Her titles include “Queen of Heaven”, Lady of Babylon” and “Lady of Nineveh”. In Jewish mysticism, in the Talmud, the Kabbalah and the Zohar and all the rest of Judaism, she is the divine feminine with a name the Jews try to hide because of their continuing worship of her to this day! That name is ‘Shekinah’. The Jews never stopped worshipping the Queen of Heaven. They just gave her another name and then called it “ha shem”, “the name”. Just as Israel never came out of Egypt, according to Ezekiel 23 (which I will read in a minute), the Jews never came out of Babylon, either.

She and Heylel-Lucifer-ha Satan-the serpent are the same entity. How do I know? It is widely known in scholarly and other circles that Ishtar has a dual nature, “gender fluid”, as Google says, wherein she is both male and female. She is depicted with both feminine and masculine traits including having a beard in her warrior aspect. She possesses the power to cross over gender boundaries. Not only that, she possesses the supernatural ability to “change man into woman and woman into man”. Her worship is from transgenders and homosexuals. Ishtar cannot be put into a nice neat feminine box like many of the other goddesses. That is because she-he is both genders. Satan is Ishtar’s male form and Ishtar is Satan’s female form.

This is important to understand because YHVH is at war with Satan. If Ishtar was just any other “so-what” goddess, YHVH would not have given her that “base of operations”. No. What YHVH wants us to understand is that Babylon, the empire, is Satan’s “base of operations”. All that His Spirit was doing was returning her/him to their original spot! I hope you get what I am saying.

Ishtar even has a dual nature of love and war. Just like Satan can be a lovely vision of light and a hideous demon in the dark, Ishtar has dual nature. Part of her dual nature is her association with the lion and the bow and arrow.

Now, isn’t the lion aspect interesting? Certainly it ties her to Babylon whose symbol is the lion with wings, but it also mocks the Lion of Judah, doesn’t it? Who, on all the earth, wants to be associated with the lion? Satan.

Now let’s go to Ezekiel chapter 23 where I can prove who those 2 women are.

Ezekiel 23:1  Yahweh’s word came again to me, saying,
Ezekiel 23:2  “Son of man, there were two women [2 women, the same ones carrying the basket with stork’s wings], the daughters of one mother.
Ezekiel 23:3  They played the prostitute in Egypt. They played the prostitute in their youth. Their breasts were fondled there, and their youthful nipples were caressed there.
Ezekiel 23:4  Their names were Oholah the elder, and Oholibah her sister. They became mine, and they bore sons and daughters. As for their names, Samaria is Oholah, and Jerusalem Oholibah.

The Israelites had been worshiping her in Egypt under the name ‘Ashtoreth’. And Ishtar is the same Queen of Heaven who, in Revelation, will say:

Revelation 18:7  However much she glorified herself, and grew wanton, so much give her of torment and mourning. For she says in her heart, ‘I sit a queen [the ‘Shekinah’ of Judaism], and am no widow [the Jews themselves who actually are widowed from YHVH in Isaiah 54:4], and will in no way see mourning [see what they said in Jeremiah 44].’

That’s right! The Jews are going to literally seat Satan, in the form of Ishtar, on YHVH’s throne in Jerusalem in the third temple! Heylel-Lucifer-ha Satan-the serpent has always wanted to be worshiped as god. All the people will stream to Jerusalem. The Jews will go directly before Ishtar-ha Satan while the Gentiles will be kept away because the Jews believe they, themselves, are specially chosen for such worship and the Gentiles are not. But the Gentiles will be allowed to trample the city for 3.5 years as Revelation 11 says and as I taught in the teaching on Zechariah 2. However, I believe everyone who enters the Old City in that time will have to have the mark of the ha Satan beast. Whoever approaches Ishtar/ha Satan will bear her/his slave mark!

The Jews worship Heylel/Ishtar today. The doctrine to do so is in Judaism through the mystical literature, the Kabbalah and Zohar, etc. But how do Christians worship him/her? Through the Catholic Queen of Heaven festivities and all of her holidays which Protestants still observe! They worship Baal at Christmas and his consort, Ishtar (Easter) at Easter.

Where else do we see Oholah and Oholibah in operation today? In political Zionism. The people who call themselves by YHVH’s name but who are serve Ishtar, not Him, have created this beast.

Revelation 13:11  I saw another beast coming up out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke like a dragon.

Oholah and Oholibah have made it possible for the political Zionist beast to rise and hand Jerusalem and the entire world over to the queen of heaven!

Let me summarize. The prophetic story goes like this: YHVH marshalled the Jews of 520 BC to build the stone temple and to become His “temple made without hands”. He promised them safety and security while they worked. And while they were working, He prepared Zerubbabel as His signet authority on earth and Joshua was cleaned up to be their High Priest. And then YHVH showed us His actual objective which is to finally reach the full restoration of the Order of Melchizedek on the earth. But first, He had to cover Jerusalem with the holiness, righteousness and justice of the Torah and push Heylel ha Satan posing as the wicked goddess, Ishtar, and 2 of her daughters out of Jerusalem, sending them back to Babylon where they belonged! They are making their reappearance now, in our day.
