Samson was Israel’s 12th and most notable Judge in the Book of Judges. He is one of the most mysterious characters of scripture. He had a divine calling on his life from before his conception. This is not unlike many of YHVH’s specially chosen men, including Yeshua the Messiah.

Wicked Israel was so wicked that her next Judge needed to be almost super human to save her but, even then, his ability to save her was limited. His ability was limited by YHVH Himself. Israel had gone too far and YHVH would no longer save Israel from her enemies. It was time for Israel to suffer and struggle for a while.

The Ephraimites turned on Jephthah. They turned out to be a wicked tribe and one YHVH would later remove from authority. Ephraim’s confrontation with Jephthah has many lessons for us to learn from today.

You have not been taught how powerful is the story of Jephthah nor how prophetic. It is no accident that Jephthah’s story comes right after Abimelech’s, the would-be king of Israel.

Gideon is now dead. The scriptures don’t say that but as we do this study it will become evident that he has died and there is a wicked legacy that follows through his son Abimelech.

The story of Gideon is difficult to study. It is the story of a man who begins well but finishes poorly.

Gideon’s life and battle against the Midianites are very prophetic for our time.

The calling of YHVH is just the beginning of our battles. Gideon made the right choice when he destroyed his father’s Baal altar but he would still have other choices to make and other battles to fight starting with his own flesh.
