Vayeshev 2014: The Trouble With Tamar
This is a very different perspective of the story of Judah and Tamar. It may be a prophecy about the time that we live in right now. Perhaps the latest elections upheaval caused by Netanyahu’s collapsed coalition will lead to events prophesied in this Torah Portion with the story of Judah and Tamar, namely the reconciliation between the Houses of Judah and Joseph/Ephraim.
Vayeshev 2013: Joseph, Jacob & Other Characters
This is a shorter than usual Torah Portion. Rather than focus on prophecy, I brought out some things we need to know about our forefathers that affect us now and will become factors during the Great Tribulation. (Oh ok… So it is still about prophecy in a way… LOL). I just didn’t feel the need to keep hammering on the character flaws we all have, but to help put our forefathers’ flaws into perspective with our own.
